Me, my Shark and I
Check this Story out! "The day before I shot this video, i was SUP surfing with a couple friends and 2 sharks circled us for about 15 minutes. the next day, i decided to go back out at around the same time and take my GO PRO HD HERO camera (gopro.com) mounted on a 10 ft pole and do some exploring. Sure enough within 5 minutes a 9 ft shark came out of no where and circled twice and slapped his tail on my board before disappearing. then a minute later a 7 ft young juvenile Great White swam circles around me for 12 minutes. It was an unreal experience that I will cherish forever." - chuckpattersonsports.com

Big Congrats to Mike Remige who has been hired to manage the new Jennette's Pier for the NC Aquariums. Mike will take over with his new role on July 12th. Mike reports in the future he'd like to see the pier be a premier venue for surf contests. Mike was a big help to SurfKDH and the Outer Banks Pro a few years ago when we covered the event live from the old pier site.
Finally, the unfortunate reality of what the Oil Spill may mean for the Outer Banks can be seen in this article: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/7718086/ which states that traces of the oil "could" make it to our beaches in "no more than two weeks."
